On the Northwest side of Tucson, there’s a road widening project that’s turned into some thing much more than anyone ever expected. Crews have unearthed the ruins of an ancient city. It was once the home of the Hohokam Indians and now it’s being excavated right along side the construction project on Silverbell Road between Ina and Cortaro roads. For the Town of Marana, having an archeological dig at a construction site has been a challenge in a critical regional transportation link.
Trafficade’s Trench-Ade division, Flaggerade division, and Traffic Control and Barricade division are working in unison to provide this roadside area with Concrete Wall Barriers that will be place along the existing roadway in sections so that additional protection will be provided to the archeological dig areas from construction until the excavation has been completed. This is in a critical regional transportation link, having all 3 divisions working together is a major assest to keeping the work zone safe and the traffic flowing without major delays.
